Description
The Garrett 848212-5002S is a 100% new, genuine Garrett GT3788VA variable-geometry turbocharger for 2011–2016 GM 6.6L Duramax LML pickups — the same OE-spec unit the engine left the factory with, built with Garrett’s latest engineering updates. This is a new assembly, not a reman, and no core charge applies. The kit includes a new vane position sensor and vane position solenoid (VGT control valve); mounting gaskets are not included.
Symptoms of a Failing Duramax LML Turbocharger
- Loss of power and sluggish acceleration, especially under load or towing
- Diagnostic trouble codes P003A or P2563 (turbo boost control position performance)
- Excessive black or blue exhaust smoke
- Whining, grinding, or metallic noise from the turbocharger
- Oil leaking into the intake or exhaust side of the turbo
- Sticking VGT vanes causing surging, slow spool-up, or limp mode
